2011 Fall Fiber Festival

 Activities:

•  Custom shearing of fleeces of your choice.
•   Bring your wheel and spin and visit.
•   Fleece and fiber sales
•   WORKSHOPS:

             Beginning Dyeing by Pat Pietsch and Kathleen Wright.  11am-1:30pm .

             Learn about acid dyes, definitions, properties, brand names, chemical composition, and the mechanics of the dyeing process.   

             Hands-on experience will focus on space dyeing with the opportunity to make samples of four techniques.  Materials fee included.                        

             Cost, $22

             Advanced Dyeing by Pat Pietsch and Kathleen Wright.  2 pm-4:30pm .  

             Focuses on color theory and its application to fiber dyeing with acid dyes.  Terms relating to color will be defined and demonstrated.   Mixing of colors and forming pleasing color 

             palettes will be covered.  Hands-on experience includes: making a  color wheel and producing at least five samples of dyed fiber. Materials fee included. 

              Cost, $22

         Color and Fiber Blending -  by Amy Wolf.     Noon to 4pm. 

            Come and create a pound of spinning fiber with the colors and fibers of your choice using our roving machine. 

            Fibers available for blending, in a variety of colors are: wool, mohair and alpaca. 

            Cost,  $25 for wool,  $35 for wool, mohair or alpaca blends.
